Antigenic Rapid Saliva Test. 2019-nCoV Ag Saliva Lollipop Rapid Test Card (Kit 20 Tests)
2019-nCoV Ag Saliva Rapid Test Card is a lateral flow immunoassay intended for the qualitative detection of 2019-nCoV nucleocapsid antigenic protein in saliva samples collected from patients with suspected COVID-19 infection within the first 7 days of symptom onset. The results refer to the identification of the 2019-nCoV nucleocapsid antigenic protein. A positive result indicates the presence of viral antigens, but correlation with the patient’s history and other diagnostic information is necessary to define the patient’s infectious status.
A positive result does not exclude co-infection with other viruses. The agent detected by the salivary antigen test may not be the cause of the disease. A negative result should be considered preliminary, does not exclude 2019-nCoV infection and cannot be used as the sole basis for patient treatment, including decisions on infection control. A negative result should be considered in conjunction with the patient’s medical history, exposures and the presence of clinical symptoms consistent with CoVID-19, and confirmed with molecular assays if necessary. Test intended for professional use.
Principle of the Lollipop rapid saliva test
This reagent uses a sandwich of two antibodies to immobilise antigens of the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in salivary samples. During the test, the anti-2019-nCoV monoclonal antibody complex labelled with colloidal gold and 2019-nCoV antigen migrates along the test strip and encounters the anti-2019-nCoV monoclonal antibodies immobilised in the T-zone of the test, blocking the migration and resulting in a coloured strip. If the antigen is absent, the complex is not formed and the labelled antibody continues to migrate without stopping and no coloured band is formed in the T-zone. Regardless of the presence of antigen in the sample, a coloured band should always be formed in the control zone C.
Sample Collection and Preparation of the Saliva Rapid Antigenic Test
Please read the instructions carefully before performing the Lollipop Rapid Salivary Test.
- Take a card and allow it to equilibrate to room temperature.
- Remove the card from the aluminium bag and place it on a flat surface. Insert the salivary swab into the hook of the card and press down. The tooth at the end of the swab should fit into the hole in the card.
- After the saliva swab has been attached to the card, the test starts. You will see a purple band move across the reading window, indicating that the sample is migrating onto the test strip.
- Wait 10 minutes and read the result.
Interpretation of the 2019-nCoV Ag rapid saliva test
This device provides only a qualitative result of the tested sample.
Positive result： .
If within 10 minutes of sample application two coloured bands appear, one in the control zone (C) and the other in the test zone (T) the result should be considered positive.
Negative Result： .
If only one coloured band appears within 10 minutes of sample application in the control zone (C) the result should be considered negative. A negative result does not exclude 2019-nCoV infections.
If no colour band appears within 10 minutes of sample application, or only the test band (T) appears, the result must be considered invalid and the test must be performed again.
